Tottenham ‘seal Son-like transfer’ as success explodes already – Exclusive
Tottenham have pulled off some sensational signings in their history, with Son Heung-min at the forefront of those.
The South Korean international has spent almost 10 years with Spurs, having signed from Hamburger SV for a reported £22million.
That transfer has reaped rewards in more ways than one, with Son lifting the Europa League trophy this season.
Indeed, the signing has paid dividends off the field too, and the Lilywhites are likely to pursue similar deals in the future.

Tottenham to follow Son, Yang Min-hyeok deals
Not only has Son been an immense hit at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but he has brought in substantial revenue off the field, too.
The same has occurred with Yang Min-hyeok, who spent the last season on loan with QPR, as he was the most sold name on Hoops shirts thanks to Korean sales.
Dan Plumley believes this is the kind of transfer that Spurs will follow, given the financial benefits of such deals.
“That is what you’re targeting,” the finance expert exclusively told Tottenham News when asked if they are looking to replicate the success of Son.
“We’ve seen some clubs use that as a deliberate strategy, signing players from various markets and territories with the expectation and the solid working assumption that fans from that country are going to follow that player, and what you can leverage there by putting them in front of commercial partners.
“Selling shirts and merchandise is a big thing, and it’s absolutely something that clubs target, and you can see in those two examples there, the success.
“That Asian market will continue to offer roots like this, because their club game is not as strong as the European game, and a lot of those fans will look to follow players as much as they follow clubs; there’s not that tribalism in English football.
“It’s a market that clubs can continue to exploit.”

Son one of greatest ever Spurs deals
Considering the trophy, shirt sales, and all-around ability of Son, the deal to bring him to North London must be considered a masterstroke.
His global appeal has made him a prized asset, and while Yang is unlikely to match that, his financial potential is clear.
Although Son’s time with Tottenham could be set to end, his signing will go down in Premier League history for all the right reasons.
