Tottenham ‘need to sell Richarlison’ amid multi-million development in Brazil

Richarlison’s near-three-year stay with Tottenham could come to an end this summer.

It has been yet another disappointing season in North London for Richarlison.

Injuries have plagued his campaign, with the striker set to continue his spell on the sidelines when Tottenham take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Thursday (3 April).

The Brazillian’s long-term future remains up in the air, and Tottenham have ben urged to cut ties after missing out on an opportunity to sell Richarlison in the winter transfer window.

Flamengo make £16million bid for Richarlison

As reported by the Daily Mail (31 March), Tottenham turned down an offer for Richarlison from Flamengo in the winter transfer window.

The Brazillian club were keen to take the 27-year-old in a £16million permanent deal or on loan. Tottenham were only keen on a permanent deal, however, they wanted double what was being offered.

Richarlison is reluctant to head back to Brazil and wants another chance to fulfil his potential at Tottenham.

However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes if the North London club get another opportunity to sell Richarlison, they need to take it.

“I’ve said for the past 18 months that Richarlison needs to be moved on,” King said.

“If Tottenham have any chance to get rid of him, they need to get rid of him because he hasn’t been producing on the pitch. I can’t see anybody in England paying £32million for Richarlison. No chance.

“He needs to go abroad if Tottenham are going to get any kind of decent fee, as far as I’m concerned. No club in England is going to pay that kind of money after his performances over the last couple of years.”

Tottenham need to cash in on Richarlison

Richarlison will have two years left on his Spurs deal this summer. Therefore, the North London club need to cash in now. Offering the forward a new contract seems unlikely, which means a sale is inevitable.

As a result, Tottenham need to sell Richarlison this summer to get as much money back on a player who has been a big failure over the past few seasons.
