Tottenham ‘need more’ from Richarlison despite impressive form – Spurs Expert
Tottenham “need more” up front despite Richarlison’s incredible goalscoring form, according to ex-Spurs scout Bryan King.
Ange Postecoglou’s side were left frustrated as a last-minute Jarrad Branthwaite equaliser saw them leave Goodison Park with just a point following a 2-2 draw with Everton on Saturday 3 February.
Where some of Spurs’ other attackers on the day struggled, Richarlison proved his worth with two fantastic strikes.
Had it not been for the Brazillian, Spurs might have left Merseyside empty-handed, but King believes that Tottenham can still improve in that area of the pitch.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “That is now nine goals in eight for Richarlison in the Premier League, which is of course a very impressive return.
“He has proved that things are moving forward for him. However, I am still not convinced that he is the right replacement for Harry Kane.
“Having said that, he is who Tottenham have and he is therefore who Tottenham must rely on. If he continues in this form, I think he will get another season but Spurs need more quality up front.”
Tottenham turnaround
It is hard to criticise Richarlison’s form in front of goal right now.
Not long ago he was being mooted with a move away from England, but now he is seemingly irreplaceable.
If he continues on this run until the end of the season, he is on course to end the Premier League campaign with double digits. However, there are certain areas of the forward’s game which can be improved upon.
As per Sofascore, the 26-year-old failed with all three of his dribble attempts and completed just 67 per cent of his passes, while he won just one of his 11 ground duels.

He is finding the back of the net consistently, and supporters will hope to see him continue improving on his overall game as he looks to become the complete striker for Tottenham.
In other Tottenham news, Postecoglou has confirmed that Spurs have “one of the best in the business” working behind the scenes.
