Tottenham might soon be richer than Premier League giants Liverpool – Spurs Expert

Tottenham could begin to generate more revenue than Premier League giants Liverpool in the “next two or three years,” according to Spurs expert John Wenham.

It was recently revealed in the latest edition of the Deloitte Football Money League that Tottenham’s revenue for the 2022/23 season rose by £106.4million from the season before.

Spurs moved one place up to eighth in the 2022/23 Money League, overtaking Chelsea to become London’s highest revenue-generating football club.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City are the only three English clubs above Spurs, and Wenham believes that as long as Daniel Levy continues to make progress in North London, that could soon change.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “Having leapfrogged Chelsea, Tottenham will now have Liverpool in their sights as the next Premier League team they’re aiming to overtake, and I think that could happen in the next two or three years.

“Next year’s revenue could be impacted slightly by the absence of European football this season, although at the same time, it will be boosted by the sale of Harry Kane.

“There has been a lot more happening at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this year with the extended NFL deal, the F1 experience has now opened.

“Multiple gigs have taken place also, so our new stadium continues to be a money-spinner and Tottenham will certainly be keen to overtake Liverpool in the money league.”

Tottenham on the rise

Liverpool and Spurs were separated by £44million in terms of the revenue they generated in the 2022/23 season.

With that in mind, it doesn’t seem far-fetched that Tottenham could soon leave the Reds in their rearview mirror.

However, supporters will be more interested in what is happening on the pitch. While generating more revenue is impressive, it doesn’t change the fact that Liverpool continue to dwarf their North London rivals when it comes to footballing achievements.

Ange Postecoglou will be looking to put that right over the coming years, and Daniel Levy will need to share some of these increased funds with the Australian if he is to make that happen.
