‘Tottenham make James Maddison exit decision’ after latest injury news – Exclusive

James Maddison’s future has been up in the air after it was confirmed that he will miss the remainder of the season for Tottenham.

In what has been a dismal season for Tottenham, Maddison has faced a lot of criticism for his own performances despite contributing on the pitch.

With that said, Ange Postecoglou has shouldered most of the blame for their shortcomings domestically, leaving tensions to boil over in North London.

However, once the season is all said and done, and Tottenham’s Europa League fate is learned, Spurs will have decisions to make on the future of several first-team players, including Maddison.

Maddison unlikely to be sold this summer

Maddison looks as though he will return to fitness just in time for the new campaign, but questions still emerged as to whether he may have played his final game for Tottenham after his recent injury.

However, Paul Robinson thinks that won’t be the case, and expects Spurs to hold off on any decision over his future until there is more clarity over the future of the club.

Speaking to Tottenham News, he said: “They’re not going to sell him when he’s injured. The biggest thing is the manager and the recruitment side of things. Madison’s a top player, and you forget about some of these players.

Despite the criticism, Maddison has had a fairly good season.

“There’s a lot of talk about Romero’s future, Maddison’s future, other players’ futures. But with a different manager there next year, it puts a whole different complex on things. You know, there’s a different set of eyes looking at him.

” I think if a new manager came in next season, he didn’t play many games between now and next January, then there’s a conversation to be had. But I think with him being injured, you’ll do well to get the type of money that Tottenham would want for him. So I think James Maddison is going to be a Tottenham player for at least another year.”

Postecoglou holds Tottenham’s fate in his hands

If Tottenham win the Europa League, the concerns that have emerged as a result of the current campaign will be somewhat subdued heading into the summer, at least from a recruitment perspective.

With Champions League football in the bag, Spurs will be able to attract players, but without it, they will struggle, and it would open the door for several players to leave.

The next few weeks are huge for Tottenham and for Postecoglou.
