Tottenham: Lilywhite Rose shares £10million Joe Rodon transfer verdict at Leeds United
John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose believes Leeds United will offer Tottenham “around £10million” for Joe Rodon this summer after his strong performances on loan at Elland Road.
Rodon has struggled to make an impression in North London since he arrived at Tottenham from Swansea in a £15million deal (Sky Sports News, 17 October 2020).
In a little over three years with the club, he has managed just 24 appearances and spent part of last season on loan in France with Ligue 1 outfit Rennes before being sent to the Championship and Leeds United this season.
After his impressive performances under Daniel Farke, Wenham believes that there could be some further transfer activity between Leeds and Tottenham come June.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “He is putting in some really strong displays in the Championship, but he will only have one year left on his deal in North London this summer, and I don’t see Spurs offering him a new contract.”
“Things just haven’t worked out for Rodon at Tottenham, and the club must now look at getting the best possible deal for the centre-back.
“If Leeds were to get promoted, I could see them making an offer of around £10million, which Tottenham would be wise to accept.”
Will Joe Rodon leave Tottenham and join Leeds United permanently?
It appears Rodon’s time in North London is over, and a permanent move to Elland Road would make most sense for the Welshman.
He has been brilliant since arriving in West Yorkshire, and it is hard to imagine that Farke would want anything other than to sign the 26-year-old permanently.
Not only that, but it is a move which makes sense for all parties involved, especially if the Whites are promoted to the Premier League, which looks incredibly likely after their recent form despite a blip on Saturday 2 March as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Huddersfield Town.
Rodon’s performances have been a big part of Leeds’ impressive unbeaten run in the Championship, which stretches back 11 games, and even in the 1-1 draw with Huddersfield he still impressed.
As per Sofascore, Rodon won two of his three ground duels, and seven of his nine aerial duels and completed 95 per cent of his passes against the Terriers.

Things haven’t worked out at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the former Swansea man, but that doesn’t mean he can’t yet turn his career around with Leeds.
