Tottenham: Lilywhite Rose predicts ‘Great Deal’ amid Joe Rodon transfer verdict
John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose believes Tottenham will secure a “great deal” for Joe Rodon this summer and recoup the money they paid for the defender.
Rodon joined Tottenham from Championship outfit Swansea as part of a £15million deal (Sky Sports News, 17 October 2020).
He has so far been unable to make an impact in North London, featuring just 24 times for Spurs and twice being sent out on loan, first to Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennais F.C before joining up with Leeds United this season.
Rodon has impressed under Daniel Farke at Elland Road, and Wenham believes that Spurs will be rubbing their hands together ahead of a potential transfer this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham, the founder of reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, said: “This loan has worked to a tee for Tottenham.
“Rodon has gone to Leeds, he’s got plenty of game time and he’s proved himself at the top end of the Championship.
“I just think Tottenham will sell him this summer, and I think they will get their money back on him, which would be a great deal.
“This summer there will be other Spurs players moving on who they certainly will not get their money back on, so to break even on Rodon will be fantastic.”
Joe Rodon will be keen to secure a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Despite Rodon’s fantastic form for Leeds, with the Wales international helping to push the Whites into the automatic promotion positions, it is hard to see a way back for him at Spurs.
No one could blame Postecoglou if the Australian chose to give the centre-back a second chance off the back of his 2023/24 campaign, but with the number of players ahead of Rodon in that position in North London, it is likely that first-team football won’t be guaranteed for the 27-year-old.
Rodon is riding a wave of momentum and he will want to build on that and continue to play regularly next season.

Therefore, a move away seems as if it will be of interest to the defender, and with just over a year left on his deal, Spurs would be wise to cash in while they can.
