Ex-Tottenham employee Bryan King has admitted there will be a "question mark" hanging over Manor Solomon after a surgery update this week.

Solomon hasn't been seen in a Tottenham shirt since he came off the bench in a 2-1 home victory over Liverpool on 30 September.

After undergoing surgery on a knee issue (via BBC Sport, 6 October), Solomon was initially targeting a return for Spurs' FA Cup fourth-round 1-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (26 January).

However, Tottenham confirmed this week that Solomon has once again undergone a minor knee surgery, which King believes will raise doubts over his long-term prospects in North London.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: "Solomon has a contract with Tottenham and they're in no position to do anything until he is fit again.

"I feel sorry for him because it doesn't look good if you've already been out for five months and then you require another operation.

"As good as the doctors and the surgeons are today, this will put a question mark over him.

"However, I don't think anyone should be discussing anything until he gets himself fit and then people can pass a judgement over whether he is going to be part of Tottenham going forward or not."

Manor Solomon will be desperate to return and make an impact under Ange Postecoglou at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

It might feel like a long time ago now, but when Solomon was playing, he was contributing.

In one of just two Premier League starts for the 24-year-old this season he provided two assists as Spurs thrashed Burnley 5-2 at Turf Moor (2 September).

He was also making an impact off the bench in matches, and he was a useful option for Ange Postecoglou to have in the squad.

The Australian will therefore be incredibly frustrated by this recent update, and Solomon will be desperate to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.
