Tottenham investment deal to be ‘off the scale’ as new Daniel Levy update emerges

Dan Bardell believes an “off the scale” fee would have to be paid to Daniel Levy for him to sell Tottenham Hotspur given the improvements he has made.

The Daily Mail (28 April) has reported that the Tottenham owner is looking to find new investors amid interest from America.

Sami Mokbel suggested that there are at least two US-based groups who have shown an interest in acquiring a stake in the club in recent months. This comes after record losses were posted by the club.

Bardell has piled praise on Levy for his work at Spurs and believes prospective investors will be enticed by the infrastructure he has built.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Bardell said: “The finances for that kind of move would be off the scale. All I know is if you’re a very wealthy person looking to invest in a high-level Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur is a very attractive proposition.

“That is down to Daniel Levy and how clever he’s been in managing Tottenham off the pitch.

“They’ve got arguably the best stadium in the league, arguably the best training ground, they’re based in London which is always a bonus. They’ve played Champions League recently.

“You’re looking at a very attractive football club. Tottenham would be sold for a lot of money and that’s credit to Levy.

“I know fans have been frustrated at times and investment in the squad. If you look at the investment behind the scenes there’s not many clubs in the world that are better run in terms of infrastructure.”

How have Tottenham signings played this season?

Over the summer James Maddison, Micky Van de Ven, Brennan Johnson and Guglielmo Vicario were the big-name arrivals.

It is safe to say that they have all had a positive impact on the squad this season despite things going askew in recent weeks.

Maddison had looked like one of the best players in the league early in the campaign and has registered four goals and seven assists [FotMob].

He has slowed down in recent weeks and hasn’t been involved in a goal since early March.

James Maddison has struggled in a Tottenham shirt as of late.

Vicario had looked like one of the best goalkeepers in the league but his defensive set-piece ability has been questioned.

Van de Ven has been one of the most important players under Ange Postegoclou and was sorely missed while injured. Johnson is a young player who is improving all the time.

These investments made by Levy have certainly improved the side, he just needs to back it up in the upcoming summer transfer window.

In other Tottenham news, Guglielmo Vicario must improve after “very weak” Tim Sherwood verdict.
