Tottenham injury exclusive: Huge Son Heung-min update emerges
Tottenham attacker Son Heung-min appears to be improving post his ankle injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that while that may be the case, he does not seem ready to make his first-team return yet.
He even sat out the first leg of the Europa League semi-final clash against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.

Son expected to miss West Ham clash due to injury
The South Korea international is not yet back in first-team training, so a return against West Ham appears to be off the cards.
Tottenham take on the Hammers at the London Stadium on Sunday, 4 May – days before they take on Bodo/Glimt in the second leg.
Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
2024/25 | 28 | 7 | 10 |
2023/24 | 35 | 17 | 10 |
2022/23 | 36 | 10 | 6 |
Discussing the state of play with Son exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.
“Based on Ange’s comments, it sounds like he is improving post his ankle injury, but still not ready for game minutes.
“I reckon they are trying to get him as fit as possible, but he’s still not back in training. I do not see him being available for at least another week.
“While he might be risked for the second leg, it’s fair to say he won’t be fit for the weekend.“

Tottenham must take it easy with Son ahead of a potential final
There is nothing left to play for domestically, so rushing Son back for the Premier League clash seems pointless, to say the least.
Even for the second leg, Spurs hold a decent lead and do not need to chase the game, so it makes no sense to risk the 32-year-old.
His big-game prowess is likely going to come in handy for the Europa League final and having him fully fit for that game should be the priority.
In case the second leg does not go as per plan, Ange Postecoglou does have plenty of options he can bring on off the bench to make a difference.
