‘Tottenham have Liverpool-like player outstanding enough to make PFA Team of the Year’
Tottenham could taste major success again this season thanks to the players Thomas Frank has at his disposal.
After finishing 17th in the Premier League last season, having lost the most games ever without relegation, there were doubts about how the Lilywhites would move forward.
Frank has turned things around. Other than Spurs’ defeat to Bournemouth at home, the North London side hasn’t lost a game in the Premier League.
As a result, the Lilywhites are currently third, with Tottenham’s and the Premier League season paused for the latest international break.
But the sky could be the limit for Spurs this season, given how talented some of their players are.

Mohammed Kudus tipped to be in PFA Team of the Season
Tottenham signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham over the summer, and he has arguably been their best player since.
Indeed, Kudus has not only been Spurs’ main creator, but his individual performances have given Tottenham fans something to smile about.
- Kudus has five goal contributions in seven league games
- He has 1.9 key chances per game
- He has completed 54 per cent of his dribbles
If his form continues, Tottenham expert and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that Kudus will be named in the PFA Team of the Year.
“He looks like a Bayern Munich or a Liverpool-like player,” Wenham said.
“We should be embracing that. We shouldn’t be worried about anything and should be embracing it. We’ve got this amazing player who not only brings so much to the team in terms of his possession of the ball, winning duels, and getting us on the front foot.
“But if he’s now delivering multiple assists and goals as well, we’re onto something really special. I think he’s an outstanding player.
“I think he’s already worth significantly more than the £55million that was paid for him. It seems incredibly cheap in the market that was this summer, and some of the fees that were being paid.
“I expect him to carry on, and I expect him, if his form continues, to find himself in the PFA Team of the Year at the end of this season”
Given his stellar start to the season, Tottenham could even have the future Premier League player of the year on their hands.
Three more Tottenham players who could be in PFA Team of the Year
Djed Spence has revived his career at Tottenham after several years spent on the sidelines and has had a strong start to the season under Frank.
The fullback has been one of the best-performing fullbacks in the first division and will surely make the Team of the Year if this form continues.
Micky van de Ven has been one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League this season. His pace, ability on the ball, and defensive prowess have made the difference in Spurs’ backline so far.
Pape Matar Sarr has arguably been the Lilywhites’ best midfielder this season. He’s a player whose efforts usually go under the radar, but this period has been anything but.
As he continues to grow in performances and confidence, Sarr could be a real contender for the Team of the Year this season.
