Tottenham: Harry Kane transfer clause mooted at Bayern Munich for Spurs return in ‘simple transaction’
Tottenham will have inserted a clause allowing them first dibs on a return for Harry Kane if they were “clever”, according to Paul Robinson.
England captain Kane – Spurs’ all-time leading goalscorer – was sold to Bayern Munich in a £100million deal last August (Sky Sports).
However, with Bayern trailing Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and trailing Lazio in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, a recruitment source with links to the Spurs told Tottenham News that Kane would be open to a return to the club.
Robinson, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, cannot see Kane coming back so soon after leaving but believes it would be a “simple transaction” to bring the 30-year-old striker back to England.
“I think after one season, him going there he won’t have given it enough time for him to settle, to adapt to the lifestyle off the field, it’s a huge change when you move,” he said.
“When he moves back to England it’ll be a simple transaction but I personally don’t see it after only a year.
“I mean you look at the amount of goals he’s scored, he’s adapted to the style of football and play and the lifestyle on the pitch, you would think off the pitch too.
“If he ever was to come back to England, you would like to think Tottenham have been clever enough to put a clause in, they’ve got first dibs if you like, but I don’t see it being this summer.”
Will Harry Kane return to Tottenham from Bayern Munich?
You would like to think that Kane will one day play in the Premier League again before he retires and if he does you would definitely like to think it will be with Tottenham.
But after such a long saga last summer resulted in him moving to Bayern, it is hard to imagine that he will depart Munich after just one season – especially if he comes back without any major medals.

Right now, Kane has made his bed and probably has to lie in it. A club the size of Bayern, you have to imagine that during the length of his contract he will win honours – and possibly even be a contender for the Champions League.
If he does want to leave, though, then hopefully Robinson is right and there is a clause in there giving Spurs first refusal on a move for their all-time leading goalscorer.
