Tottenham gem Josh Keeley hailed after recent award nomination

Tottenham gem Josh Keeley is continuing to go from strength to strength on loan at Leyton Orient.

The young goalkeeper has been on fire this season, with the Republic of Ireland thought to be considering him for a senior international call-up as a result.

Keeley has also been tipped to join Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers on loan next season after his impressive progress in League One which saw him nominated for the division’s Player of the Month award for December, which was ultimately won by Charlton Athletic forward Miles Leaburn [via EFL, 10 January].

However, despite Keeley missing out on the award, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is still delighted by the goalkeeper’s progress.

“Keeley has been really good for Leyton Orient,” Wenham said.

“It is hard for goalkeepers to win that award. However, how many goalkeepers do you see in League One who are scoring goals and providing assists?

“He is also keeping multiple clean sheets. Therefore, it seems as though he is doing amazing things this season.”

Josh Keeley looks to have a big future at Tottenham

Everyone at Tottenham seems to be a big fan of Keeley, with legendary goalkeeper Pat Jennings having made contact with the youngster already.

Therefore, it is no surprise to see that the 21-year-old is shining with Leyton Orient and picking up award nominations, even if he isn’t winning those awards.

As a result, Ange Postecoglou and supporters will no doubt feel excited about the goalkeeper’s future in North London.

However, Keeley will be required to compete with Antonín Kinský, who made a huge impression on his debut for the club.

In other Tottenham news, the club are open to letting one player leave in January.
