Tottenham Expert wowed by ‘Outstanding’ Pape Matar Sarr after what Jamie Redknapp said on Sky Sports
John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose believes Pape Matar Sarr will only continue to improve under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham following Jamie Redknapp’s admission live on Sky Sports.
Sarr has broken into the Tottenham first-team this season under Postecoglou.
He has become a key player in North London, starting 20 Premier League matches so far across the 2023/24 campaign, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
Speaking ahead of Spurs’ defeat to Fulham on Saturday (16 March), Redknapp told Sky Sports, “He (Sarr) has become irreplaceable with his performances. The cross last week was one of the best you’ve seen in years. He’s full of confidence and it’s showing.”
Sarr is in the kind of form which will have attracted interest from clubs around Europe, but Wenham is hopeful that the midfielder will continue to develop under Postecoglou.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham, the founder of reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, said: “Sarr has been in fantastic form this season.
“Against Villa, there were moments in the second half where he was completely running the show in midfield with some nice passing play.
“His cross for Maddison’s goal was outstanding, something we’ve not seen too much of from him, but he obviously has that ability in his locker, and at such a young age, he’s only going to improve every time he plays.”
Pape Matar Sarr can become a world-class player at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou
Sarr wasn’t at his best against Fulham as Spurs were beaten 3-0 at Craven Cottage, which offered as a reminder that the midfielder is still an incredibly young player.
He will continue to make some mistakes along the way, but Spurs fans must remain patient because the potential he has displayed this season has been incredible.
Sarr has been playing ahead of his years and under Postecoglou there is no reason why he cannot improve.

If he can continue to add more goals and assists to his game, he could become a very important player at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for years to come.
