Tottenham expert wowed by ‘Character’ of U21 ace Josh Keeley after what he did last week
John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose has praised Josh Keeley’s character after what the on-loan Tottenham Under-21 goalkeeper did during the international break.
Keeley is currently playing his football in the National League with Barnet, with the 20-year-old very highly-rated around Hotspur Way.
During the March international break, he represented the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21s, starting between the sticks as his side beat San Marino’s Under-21s 7-0 on Friday 22 March.
And Wenham has shared what the shot-stopper did following that match which left him incredibly impressed.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham, the founder of reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, said: “Keeley went away with the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21s having established himself as their starting goalkeeper.
“A little-known fact, but after he played for Ireland on the Friday night, he then got a flight back on his own at six in the morning on Saturday to go and sit on the bench for Barnet.
“You don’t see many international players doing that.
“It shows his character and how much he values his time at Barnet and his development on loan with the Bees.”
Josh Keeley has all the attributes to become a top goalkeeper under Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham
Ange Postecoglou will be delighted to hear about Keeley’s commitment.
Returning to your club and making yourself available just one day after competing with your nation is not a common occurrence among footballers, and Keeley has demonstrated his desire to progress to the top.
He has been a regular for Barnet since making the switch, and that experience will only improve him as a player.

Keeley has plenty of years ahead of him to establish himself at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Spurs supporters should be incredibly excited about the talent they have on their hands.
