Tottenham Expert: Summer exit on the cards for midfielder Oliver Skipp as rebuild continues under Ange Postecoglou
Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…
John Wenham believes Oliver Skipp will be moved on from Tottenham during the summer transfer window.
Skipp, a product of Spurs’ academy, has played 17 times for the North London side under Ange Postecoglou this season.
Since progressing through the youth ranks at Hotspur Way the 23-year-old has played 99 times for the club, scoring once and providing two assists.
However, Wenham believes that the midfielder could soon be moved on from his boyhood outfit as Postecoglou continues to restructure his midfield at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “Obviously, now that we have Rodrigo Bentancur back from injury we’re quite well set in those positions.
“I do think Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will be moved on at some point this year, and Spurs will then look to address that situation and add another central midfielder further down the line, which would then allow us to move Skipp on from the club.

“At that point, we would have James Maddison, Pape Matar Sarr, Yves Bissouma, Bentancur, and we would have maybe a new number eight as well, so Skipp would become surplus to requirements.
“Plus, Alfie Devine would be coming back from his loan, so Spurs would be seeing what the future holds for him.
“Suddenly, Tottenham would be looking very good in central midfield, but I think this will all be done in the summer rather than this month.”
In other Tottenham news, a pundit has predicted that one Spurs ace will look to push through a transfer away from the club this month.
