Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…
John Wenham believes Tottenham winger Ivan Perisic will leave the club and move to Hajduk Split this month.
Tottenham News exclusively revealed last month (20 December) that Perisic had played his final match for Spurs after suffering an injury earlier in the season.
With his Spurs contract set to expire in the summer, the 34-year-old looks set to return to his boyhood club, with Hajduk Split’s sporting director confirming “there is dialogue” with the North London side.

“Ivan is hurt, it’s too early. We have to see when he will recover, when he will be able to run and play,” he said. as reported by (SportSport via Sport Witness, 3 January).
“The transfer window here lasts until the middle of February and that is an advantage for us. There is a dialogue with Tottenham and we will make the best decision for everyone.”
Wenham believes the comments from Hajduk’s sporting director point toward an exit this month.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “I still think there will be plenty of permanent sales and loan moves in January, starting with Perisic, I believe he will leave the club this month.
“We saw those comments from Hajduk Split’s sporting director, explicitly pointing out that the Croatian transfer window is open until 15 February.

“Perisic is not quite ready yet, but they’ll keep looking at that situation, and obviously if he doesn’t go in the next month, which I still believe he will, then he will leave the club in the summer when his contract expires.”
In other Tottenham news, Wenham is excited to see more of a rarely-seen Spurs man during the second half of the season.
