Tottenham Expert labels Manor Solomon an ‘exciting’ option for Ange Postecoglou as he nears a return from injury

John Wenham believes hardly-seen Tottenham forward Manor Solomon can be an “exciting” option for Ange Postecoglou during the second half of the season.

Solomon made a bright start to his career in North London, grabbing two assists on his first Premier League start for Spurs in a 5-2 win at Turf Moor against Burnley (2 September).

However, the 24-year-old has been sidelined since October with a knee injury which he picked up in training.

It has been more than three months since he was last seen in a Tottenham shirt, and he could now be closing in on his return to action.

As reported by the Evening Standard (9 January), the Isreal international hopes to make his long-awaited comeback to first-team training early next week, and is hopeful of being match-ready for the FA Cup fourth-round clash with Manchester City, which is scheduled to take place on the weekend of 27-28 January.

With this in mind, Wenham is keen to see what the winger can offer upon his return to the first-team picture.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “In total, Solomon has only made six appearances in a Spurs shirt so far, three starts and three off the bench, so we’ve not had a chance to see what he can offer as of yet.

“We are a team that creates a lot of chances and are always on the front foot.

“From the five goals he scored during his time with Fulham, it is evident that he is very good at cutting in from the left and bending the ball into the far corner.

“Hopefully we can see some more of that at Tottenham, and it’s definitely exciting to have him as an option in the squad.

“He’s very quick, his shooting is fantastic, and that gives us a genuine option off the bench, and he will certainly be a huge improvement in terms of what we’ve had to bring on in recent months.”

In other Tottenham news, Wenham has speculated “issues at play” with one Spurs player as he arrived for a medical with his new side.
