Tottenham: Antonio Nusa one to watch as forward shares medical admission ahead of summer transfer window
Ex-Tottenham employee Bryan King believes Antonio Nusa is a player “to keep an eye on” at Spurs after the youngster provided a medical update this week.
Ange Postecoglou’s side were on the verge of signing Nusa in January until Brentford swooped in and hijacked the deal, offering the 18-year-old more first-team guarantees.
That move broke down after an issue emerged during Nusa’s medical in West London, although the forward has now revealed in an interview with VG (via, The Evening Standard, 21 March), that those issues have been cleared up.
“That’s okay. We were worried of course. Something wasn’t right. It was important to get to the bottom of it. We’ve done that now.”
With Nusa still expected to leave Club Brugge this summer, King believes Spurs could revisit a move for the Norway international.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “I found the whole issue strange in the first place.
“Either way, it appears that Nusa has put those issues right and he is currently on international duty with the Norway squad.
“He is a player to keep an eye on, because if the medical issues are cleared up then he becomes a very interesting player who I think is set for a big career.
“He is someone who would be able to provide some competition for Dejan Kulusevski.”
Could Antonio Nusa join Tottenham to play under Ange Postecoglou?
Spurs’ interest in Nusa was well-documented, and the North London side could be tempted to revisit a move for the teenager.
With Brentford struggling in the Premier League, Nusa might be forced to rethink his decision if he were to leave Belgium in the summer.
While he won’t be immediately guaranteed first-team opportunities in North London, the likes of Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr have proven that there are chances for young players under Postecoglou.

For Nusa, it would just be about proving himself to the Australian, something he is clearly capable of doing based on what he has already achieved at such a young age.
