Tottenham Expert: Ange Postecoglou and Spurs will be ‘tested’ in the coming months

Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…

John Wenham believes Tottenham will be “tested” in the second half of the season with some tough fixtures ahead for Ange Postecoglou.

It is just past the halfway point of the 2023/24 Premier League season and Spurs find themselves fifth, five points off Premier League leaders Liverpool, although the Reds do boast a game in hand.

It has been a largely positive debut season in England for Postecoglou, although he has had some difficult challenges to contend with in terms of injuries to key players within his squad.

And Wenham believes that the second half of the season will be just as challenging for the Australian.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “We have a lot of difficult away games in the second half of the season, games which other teams might not find so difficult, but some games that we have historically struggled in.

“We have still got to go to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea, Aston Villa at Villa Park.

“West Ham away is another one that might not be as difficult for every other team in the league, but for us, we know they will be up for it, and we will be tested.

“So, we’ve got some hard games to come but we’ve done phenomenally well at this halfway point, and I think everyone would have taken the position we are in right now at the start of the season.”

In other Tottenham news, one Under-18 Spurs star has penned his first professional contract with the club.
