Tottenham Exclusive: Spurs striker wants January transfer exit

Will Lankshear wants to leave on loan in the winter transfer window, Tottenham News understands.

Lankshear has struggled for minutes as of late, with the 19-year-old thought to be unhappy in North London as a result.

After Dominic Solanke’s injury setback, the striker might have expected to be handed an opportunity in the side. However, he was an unused substitute in the 3-2 Premier League defeat to Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday (19 January).

Therefore, it should come as no surprise to Ange Postecoglou that Lankshear is keen to make a temporary switch before 3 February.

Will Lankshear to leave Tottenham on loan in January?

A source with close links to the youth setup at Hotspur Way has exclusively revealed to Tottenham News that Lankshear is keen to secure a loan move away from the club before the winter transfer window closes.

After finishing as the top goalscorer for Spurs’ Under-21s last season, Lankshear has been a consistent part of the first team this season and has been involved in 22 matchday squads.

The striker has made it onto the pitch four times, starting once as he grabbed his first senior goal in Spurs’ 3-2 UEFA Europa League defeat to Galatasaray at RAMS Park (7 November).

However, he has only played a total of nine minutes in the Premier League and hasn’t featured since mid-December.
