Tottenham Exclusive: Spurs £2m bid to be accepted
St Patrick’s Athletic would accept a £2million bid for Spurs target Mason Melia, Tottenham News understands.
Tottenham submitted a bid for Melia earlier this season [via Reptracker via X, 15 October]. However, according to the Sun (8 January), the offer – which was worth £1million – was turned down by the Irish club.
Celtic have now joined the race for the teenager with Spurs potentially looking to agree a deal as early as the current winter window to beat out competition for the 17-year-old, who wouldn’t be able to join Spurs until January 2026 as a result of Brexit regulations.
And Tottenham have now been told what kind of money could get a deal across the line.
Tottenham to agree Mason Melia transfer with St Patrick’s Athletic?
A source with close links to the youth setup in North London has exclusively revealed to Tottenham News that St Patrick’s Athletic would accept an offer of £2m for Melia.
This is big money to pay for a teenager. However, Spurs have already proven that they’re not afraid to splash the cash on young talent, with Luka Vušković a prime example of this.
And Tottenham News understands that the scouting reports on Melia suggest he is a player worth signing, with Spurs hopeful that they can get a deal across the line.

This could all mean very little to current manager Postecoglou, who might not be around by the time Melia arrives in North London if the teenager does sign for the club.
However, for whoever is in charge by January 2026, it looks as though they will have a healthy crop of talented young players to pick from.
