Tottenham Exclusive: ‘No way back for Postecoglou’ as vibes emerge

Ange Postecoglou remains under heavy pressure at Tottenham.

The ex-Celtic manager has overseen a dismal domestic campaign with Spurs being eliminated from the cups and sitting 16th in the Premier League.

The Australian has a chance to end the 17-year trophy drought by winning the Europa League after the first-leg semi-final win over Bodo/Glimt, but that may not be enough to save his job.

Postecoglou coming to the end at Tottenham

Daniel Levy faces a tough decision at the end of the campaign, he may have to sack Postecoglou even if he tastes success with the Lilywhites.

It would be a shock decision to outsiders who do not follow Spurs regularly, but to supporters and observers around the club, it would not be a surprise.

TV commentator Ian Darke cannot see how the Australian can keep his job in North London beyond the end of the season.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “In a lot of other seasons, they would be in relegation trouble, looking over their shoulder, 38 points, 16th place.

“I think I’ve said before, if Ange Postecoglou wins the Europa League, maybe that would be enough to save his job.

“I don’t think it will now from the vibes that seem to be coming out of Tottenham.

“I think when you have lost 19 Premier League games already, it could be added to as well, it will be over half the games, I don’t think there is any way for him to survive.”

Tottenham have to sack Postecoglou

The 59-year-old has led one of the worst seasons in Spurs’ history, which will not change even if they secure Europe’s second-rate trophy.

Their league campaign has still been a disgrace, a club of the Lilywhites’ stature cannot finish this low in the top-flight, it is not acceptable.

Spurs have had a miserable campaign.

Levy has an easy decision to make, he must let the Australian leave in the summer, regardless of whether he wins a trophy or not.

He has constantly argued with fans and has reportedly lost senior players, such as James Maddison, due to his controversial approach to management.

The toxic atmosphere that has developed in N17 will not go away unless a drastic change is made in the dugout, and if he keeps Postecoglou around, he is only setting himself up for more anger from supporters.
