Tottenham: Eberechi Eze and James Maddison verdict as Crystal Palace star linked to Spurs
Ex-Tottenham employee Bryan King is a big fan of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze and has compared the Spurs-linked midfielder to James Maddison.
Eze has been in fine form for Palace over the past couple of seasons, scoring 10 league goals and providing four assists last term while so far netting six times in his 17 league appearances this season.
As a result of these impressive displays, the 25-year-old has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, with Spurs one of the clubs interested in his signature, which could cost more than £30million just in personal terms.
Ange Postecoglou’s side recently beat Crystal Palace 3-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (2 March), and while he was on the losing side, Eze demonstrated what he could bring to North London by scoring a wonderful free-kick to open the scoring.
King has been a long-term fan of the England international and would like to see Spurs bring him to the club.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King said: “Eze is a good player, I have liked him ever since he was at QPR.
“I like him and I like the way he plays his football. He reminds me of Maddison.
“He is the player who provides those cute little passes in attacking areas of the pitch for Crystal Palace.”
James Maddison and Eberechi Eze could form an exciting midfield partnership at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Postecoglou’s style of play is all about attacking football, and Eze certainly has the qualities to become a success under the Australian.
Maddison has been a hit ever since he arrived in North London, and if Eze was to follow in his international teammates’s footsteps, supporters inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could be treated to some delightful football next season.
Both players offer a creative threat from midfield, and if Postecoglou could find a way to play the two together, forwards such as Son Heung-min and Richarlison would have a field day.

Eze and Maddison would constantly be looking to create chances for their teammates, while the pair also carry a goal threat themselves.
Signing Eze won’t be straightforward, but if Daniel Levy could pull a deal off, it could take Tottenham to the next level.
