Tottenham: Bryan Gil transfer decision made in North London as news emerges from Spain

John Wenham believes Bryan Gil will be sold by Tottenham this summer after a transfer update emerged from Spain.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose sees no way back for Gil in North London with reports emerging that Tottenham are willing to let the 23-year-old go (via Vamos Sevilla, 6 April).

Spurs see Gil’s transfer as an “investment lost” and would be willing to sell the forward for a fee of £5.1million, with his former side Sevilla linked.

Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham Newswould have no issues with Gil being sold.

“In my opinion, it is pretty obvious that Gil will be sold in the summer.

“I think we can all accept that he needs to leave, he doesn’t contribute anything.

“Therefore, we are not losing an important squad player, because he is hardly ever selected to play.”

Bryan Gil is likely to be allowed to leave Tottenham by Ange Postecoglou

It is hard to see Ange Postecoglou standing in the way of Gil’s transfer away from Tottenham.

Gil has hardly featured under the Australian at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season, having played just ten times in the Premier League, making only two starts.

Things have never really worked out for the Spaniard since arriving in England, and with the number of wingers on Spurs’ books right now, it doesn’t look as if his struggles will get any easier.

A transfer away is therefore probably the best decision, and his former side Sevilla would be the perfect destination.

Bryan Gil has struggled to find his feet at Tottenham.

Gil came through the youth ranks in Sevilla before quitting the club to join Tottenham.

He has since been back on loan, and a permanent return might be exactly what Gil needs to get his career back on track.
