Tottenham backed to re-sign Southampton ace Kyle Walker-Peters amid transfer reveal

John Wenham has backed Tottenham to re-sign Kyle Walker-Peters following a transfer update.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes that the 27-year-old would be the perfect addition to Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

It comes after a report from talkSPORT (9 May) revealed that Spurs are keen to bring Walker-Peters back to North London.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has backed the club to re-sign the Southampton defender.

“For me, this transfer is a no-brainer,” Wenham said.

“Walker-Peters is not of the level of Pedro Porro or Destiny Udogie, but very few players are, they’re outstanding fullbacks, some of the best in the Premier League.

“He would be a great option to have in the squad, he is homegrown, and he can play on both sides.

“Since leaving Spurs he has played a lot of first-team football and he is hugely experienced now.”

Tottenham could land a bargain by re-signing Kyle Walker-Peters

Walker-Peters has just one year remaining on his deal at the St Mary’s Stadium.

That could make transfer negotiations much smoother for Daniel Levy.

The Spurs chairman loves a bargain, and considering Walker-Peters’ attacking quality and the fact that he is homegrown, this could prove to be a very smart bit of business from Tottenham.

In other Tottenham news, Postecoglou has left Wenham baffled after a “violent” incident against Manchester City.
