Tottenham attacker now at risk of injury after major development

Tottenham attacker Wilson Odobert was ruled out with a Grade 0 hamstring injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that it was tightness or discomfort in his hamstring and Spurs did not want to take a risk to aggravate it further.

He was an unused substitute as the North London outfit won the second leg against Bodo/Glimt 2-0.

Odobert carries slim injury risk going into Crystal Palace clash

While the entire focus now is on the Europa League, Spurs still have to play three more games in the Premier League.

The first of those is this Sunday, when they take on Crystal Palace at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou may look to rotate his side and keep a lot of his players fit for the final and also give them downtime as they played on Thursday night.

Discussing the state of play with Odobert exclusively with Tottenham NewsDr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.

I reckon that he had a Grade 0 hamstring issue, which was tightness or discomfort, but they didn’t want to take a risk on him initially,” he said.

He has made the matchday squad, so it’s a sign he has recovered.

The best-case scenario is that he’s able to play with no issues, whereas the worst case is that he either suffers a setback during training or a match, as there’s always that re-injury risk.

Tottenham must not risk Odobert against Crystal Palace

Spurs must avoid risking Odobert in their upcoming clash against Crystal Palace due to his recurring injury concerns, which could worsen with a premature start.

While he has shown promise, he has been hampered by fitness issues, making a cautious approach essential to protect his long-term development.

Postecoglou should opt to bring him off the bench, allowing limited minutes to rebuild match sharpness without overloading him.

Gradually increasing his playing time will minimise the risk of setbacks, ensuring he remains available for Tottenham’s crucial Europa League final and the season’s end.

Prioritising his recovery is key to unlocking his potential.
