Tottenham: Ange Postecoglou told to drop Yves Bissouma v Newcastle after recent events
Bryan King believes Ange Postecoglou will replace Yves Bissouma with Rodrigo Bentancur in the Tottenham midfield against Newcastle United.
The ex-Spurs scout has praised the difference Bentancur made when he came off the bench at half-time as Tottenham beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 on Sunday (7 April).
Postecoglou’s side will look to build on that win when they travel to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle on Saturday (13 April).
And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels that the North London outfit are more than capable of getting a result.
“I fancy Tottenham to get a result at St James’ Park, I really do. Newcastle aren’t the same side that they were last season,” King shared.
“Postecoglou must change things in midfield though. When he made those substitutions at half-time against Nottingham Forest, Spurs looked a far better team.
“I think Bentancur will take Bissouma’s place, that would be the only change for me.
“I am not convinced about Timo Werner myself, but Postecoglou seems to want to play him, and I think he will start with the same front three as he did against Forest.”
Ange Postecoglou must change things in the Tottenham midfield against Newcastle United
Spurs struggled during the first half against Forest last time out.
They were let off the hook, with the Reds failing to capitalise on Tottenham’s slopiness, but it is unlikely Postecoglou’s men would have that same luck against the Magpies.
Newcastle are certainly not the same side that they were last season, but they are still a far better outfit than Forest, and playing at St James’ Park is never easy.

Postecolgou can therefore not afford to wait until the break on this occasion and must ensure he gets his team selection spot on from the first whistle.
