Tottenham and Daniel Levy in an ‘Incredibly Strong’ position despite multi-million loss

John Wenham believes Daniel Levy has Tottenham in an “incredibly strong” financial position despite the club posting a loss in their most recent accounts.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes that the club’s revenue is more important to consider than their losses.

It comes after Spurs posted their financial accounts for the year ending June 30 2023 (via Tottenham Hotspur Official Website, 3 April) which revealed that the club made an £86.8million loss for the year after depreciation, amortisation, player trading, interest and taxation.

However, the North London side also posted a record-breaking revenue of £549.6million and Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels that that this will prove to be the more important figure in the coming years.

“I know they posted an overall loss, but I’m very confident Tottenham of all clubs know exactly what they’re doing,” said Wenham.

“All you need to focus on is the growth of the club’s revenue year on year which just demonstrates that Levy has Tottenham in an incredibly strong position financially.

“We saw in the January transfer window that Spurs were the only Premier League club spending much money and they were able to make some very positive additions.

“Therefore, I don’t think these losses are much to read into and they are simply a result of paying the stadium off, which is going to prove beneficial in the long run.”

Daniel Levy has Tottenham in a strong long-term position

While the losses might appear heavy at first, it is worth remembering that a lot of this will be as a result of ongoing stadium costs.

As those eventually begin to reduce and the revenue at Tottenham continues to grow, Levy could find himself in an even stronger position then he already does.
