Tottenham: Alejo Veliz ‘disaster’ emerges amid Fabrizio Romano reveal
John Wenham believes Tottenham striker Alejo Veliz should be sent on loan to an English club next season after his disastrous time on loan with Sevilla.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes that the most important thing for Veliz next season is to play regularly after seeing his minutes limited with Sevilla during the second half of this season.
It comes after Fabrizio Romano provided an update via X (31 March) revealing that Spurs are preparing a new loan for Veliz next season where he will be guaranteed game time.
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes it doesn’t matter where Veliz goes, as long as he remains in England.
“Any loan for Veliz after the disaster of this loan at Sevilla needs to be based in England,” Wenham said.
“If it was between a Premier League club and a Championship club where he was going to be playing regularly, I would send him to the Championship club.
“He needs guaranteed game time next season, that is the most important thing.”
Tottenham must ensure they get it right with Alejo Veliz
Spurs invested a considerable amount of money to bring Veliz to the Premier League.
He is still incredibly young, and while the striker hasn’t played much in Seville, he would have learnt a thing or two being exposed to life at a big La Liga side.
However, he cannot afford to spend another season sitting on the sidelines, and Spurs must ensure they pick the right club for the 20-year-old next season.
