Tottenham: £100m+ news emerges as Expert reacts to developments
Dan Plumley has hailed “really significant growth” at Tottenham after the latest edition of the Deloitte Football Money League was published.
Spurs moved up one position to eighth, swapping places with Chelsea with a revenue increase of £106.4million for the 2022/23 season.
The football finance expert admitted that the new stadium certainly helps, but the commercial growth of the club is something that continues to help figures.
“It’s really significant growth,” he exclusively told Tottenham News.
“There is a big jump in the stadium, but it’s not as big as you’d perhaps think it would be, there is about a £10million uplift in stadium revenue, the bulk of it has come from commercial revenue.
“Some of that will be linked to the stadium, so it does go hand-in-hand and that stadium will do wonders for Spurs in the future.
“Across the board, that’s a really significant amount of revenue growth in a year, and it shows how commercial savvy they have been and what they’ve done with that stadium, and some of the other deals.
“Again, look at where we are right now and future iterations of that money league and what Spurs could do financially, if you get back into the Champions League, for an English club you could stick another £50million on the revenue line at least for the following season.
“If you can match some of that commercial growth and the money coming from the stadium with on-pitch performance, then again, you will see further growth for that club in the future.”

Tottenham keep bringing in that revenue
Given that Champions League qualification could add another £50million onto that revenue line, the on-pitch performance of Ange Postecoglou is bigger than ever.
Thankfully, the Australian appears to be getting most things right with his decisions hailed after the last-gasp 2-1 win over Brighton took Spurs fourth in the Premier League on Saturday 10 February.
In other Tottenham news, Postecoglou has been blamed for throwing away two Premier League points over a player who isn’t good enough.
