Son Heung-min injury fears emerge after Tottenham development
Son Heung-min’s injury could be more serious than believed after a recent Tottenham development.
Spurs recorded the biggest win of Ange Postecoglou’s reign by beating Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 at Deutsche Bank Park on Thursday (17 April) to reach the UEFA Europa League semi-final.
It was a joyous occasion for everybody connected with Tottenham, evidenced by Guglielmo Vicario’s reaction at the full-time whistle.
However, there was a noticeable absence against Frankfurt, with Son unable to feature after suffering an injury setback, which could prove to be a costly one.

Son misses Tottenham win against Frankfurt
After missing the win against Frankfurt, Son sent a message to his Tottenham teammates.
The 32-year-old will no doubt be keen to get back on the pitch for the semi-final. However, it looks as though Son could be set for a race against time to be fit for the clash with Bodø/Glimt.
Fixture | Date | Venue |
Tottenham v Bodø/Glimt | 1 May | Tottenham Hotspur Stadium |
Bodø/Glimt v Tottenham | 8 May | Aspmyra Stadion |
Not only was the South Korean unable to feature against Frankfurt, but Son missed the trip to Germany.
Therefore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the forward’s injury could be a serious one.
“We don’t know the extent of his injury,” Wenham said.
“All we know is that he is injured. However, we don’t know how comfortable it is for him to get down to the airport, board the plane, and sit on the plane for a couple of hours in a fixed position.
“Therefore, until we know the extent of the injury, it is probably unfair to comment too much on Son missing the trip to Germany. It could be a more serious injury than we think.
“By losing Son, you’re losing a world-class player who can provide moments, and there’s nothing that any Tottenham fan would love more than for us to reach the final and Son to score the winner, make no mistake about it. For the years he has given us, for that to be his big moment would be amazing.”

Tottenham fans must wait on Son update
As club captain, it would have been a big blow for Son to miss the trip to Germany.
Therefore, this suggests that his injury could be more than a knock. However, fans will have to wait for an update from Postecoglou to discover the full extent of the injury.
