Solanke blasted in ‘disappointing’ Tottenham claim as £45m transfer news emerges
Dominic Solanke’s first season at Tottenham has been labelled a disappointment as Premier League transfer news emerges.
Tottenham signed Solanke from Bournemouth for £65million in the summer transfer window.
It has been a frustrating first season for the striker, who, just like many of his teammates in North London, has suffered from injuries as Spurs’ medical staff is brought into question.
Many Bournemouth fans might mockingly suggest that Solanke would have been better off staying put, with the Cherries 10 points ahead of Spurs in the Premier League and flying high.
And this bright form looks to have inspired Tottenham to once again go shopping on the South Coast.

Tottenham want to sign Bournemouth forward
It looks as though Daniel Levy could raid the Vitality Stadium this summer, with Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola the preferred choice to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham [The Athletic].
This could be of benefit to Solanke after the striker’s impressive form under Iraola previously.

As well as reuniting the 27-year-old with his former manager, it looks as though Spurs want to bring one of Solanke’s former teammates to North London, too, as they target a £45million move for Justin Kluivert [CaughtOffside].
However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t think Kluivert would necessarily be a success at Spurs based on Solanke’s time in North London.
“I’d imagine there are a couple of Bournemouth players who could be of interest,” King said.
“Dean Huijsen, I quite like him. Kluivert has had a good season, too. However, big-money signings from these clubs are not guaranteed to give you results, as we’ve seen with Solanke and Richarlison.
“We should have been looking for 30 goals between the two of them, minimum. That is the only way Tottenham are going to have success. However, it has been a disappointing season for Richarlison and a disappointing first season for Solanke.
“I know he was picked for England, but I’m still trying to work out how that happened.”

Solanke needs to do more at Tottenham
While he was selected for England during the March international break, Solanke didn’t play any minutes, which left some Spurs supporters furious with Tuchel.
However, the forward’s focus must now switch back to Tottenham and finishing the season on a high.
It hasn’t been the first season he would have wanted, but if Solanke can score the goals which lead Tottenham to UEFA Europa League glory, the perception around him could quickly change.
