Sir Jim Ratcliffe name-dropped as Tottenham enter 'advanced' investment talks
Bryan King has questioned whether any investment at Tottenham would be similar to Sir Jim Ratcliffe's investment at Manchester United.
The ex-Spurs scout doesn't think any potential investors would be afforded the same level of control.
It comes after the Mirror reported (28 September) that Amanda Staveley is in "advanced talks" to buy a sizeable stake in Tottenham.
As a result, King - speaking exclusively to Tottenham News - is curious to see how much money is involved in any potential deal.
"Will this be a similar situation to Ratcliffe and Manchester United?" King said.
"I can't imagine that these investors would be allowed to turn the club upside down and inside out like Ratcliffe is doing at United.
"When we see the sum of money involved, then we can see how serious this investment will be."
Amanda Staveley to invest in Tottenham?
Any investment in North London could open the door for a potential takeover.
However, after Staveley's previous involvement with Newcastle United, King has warned Levy and Spurs against getting involved with the potential investor.
Nonetheless, as long as Staveley just remains a minority investor, it is hard to see her having too much influence on Tottenham.
While Ratcliffe has been able to make quite the mark at Old Trafford, it is difficult to see Levy allowing that same level of freedom to any new investors.
Therefore, as long as the Spurs chairman is in place, there are unlikely to be any major changes at the club, regardless of any investment.
