Sergio Reguilón tipped to reunite with José Mourinho amid Tottenham exit latest

Tottenham outcast Sergio Reguilón could be set to reunite with José Mourinho at Fenerbahçe.

Reguilón appeared to disrespect Ange Postecoglou after the 28-year-old made a surprise appearance off the bench in the 4-3 Carabao Cup win over Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday [19 December].

As a result, Spurs fans have urged the club to get rid of the defender, and according to AS [18 December], Mourinho has identified Reguilón as a potential signing at Fenerbahçe.

Mourinho was the man who brought Reguilón to Tottenham from Real Madrid during his time in charge of the North London club.

And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks this could be a perfect transfer solution.

“I think they could afford a deal,” Wenham said.

“We’ve had some success moving players to Turkey in the past. Therefore, this deal is possible, especially with Jayden Oosterwolde, the Fenerbahçe starting left-back, having been ruled out for the season.

“They will be looking to reinforce that position, and it would certainly be a welcome transfer from Spurs’ point of view.”

Spurs have previously been backed to accept a £20,000-per-week transfer agreement to get rid of Reguilón. Therefore, it is clear that the club are desperate to get the Spaniard off their books.

As a result, if Mourinho was to step forward and once again sign Reguilón, he wouldn’t be doing his popularity among Spurs fans any harm.

However, it remains to be seen whether a deal could be agreed between the two clubs, although with Reguilón clearly not a part of the plans in North London, it shouldn’t take much to convince Spurs to sell.
