Santiago Gimenez makes Tottenham decision in AC Milan transfer twist – Sources

Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez decided against joining Tottenham as he fancies a move to AC Milan despite an initial bid made by the Italian side being turned down, Tottenham News has learned.

TBR Football reported on 23 January that Milan were close to securing the services of the 23-year-old, amid interest from Spurs.

Tottenham News understands that while the club’s interest was genuine, a move to North London was never on the cards for the Mexico striker.

Tottenham are eyeing a new striker transfer in this window

Given the number of injuries, Ange Postecoglou is understood to be keen on bringing in attacking reinforcements.

They missed out on the services of Randal Kolo Muani as he joined Juventus on loan, and by the looks of things, will fail in their pursuit to sign the Feyenoord forward as well.

The Mexican is having a stellar goal-scoring season in the Champions League as well as the Eredivisie.

He’s bagged four goals and one assist in four Champions League games and has found the back of the net on seven occasions in eleven games in the league.

Johan Lange will likely be looking at other options as Postecoglou needs a striker to turn things around for Spurs this season.

In other Tottenham news, a major development has emerged in Spurs’ quest to sign Ansu Fati from Barcelona.
