Ryan Mason blasted and told to quit Tottenham after manager sack news
Ryan Mason could finally quit Tottenham to strike out on his own as a manager.
Ange Postecoglou has been under serious pressure in recent months as a result of Spurs’ poor form.
This has resulted in one of his very own assistant coaches, Mason, emerging as a leading candidate to replace the Australian in the hot seat should Daniel Levy pull the trigger.
Mason has twice taken over as Tottenham manager on an interim basis in the past, and it looks as though he might finally have a chance to do the job permanently.
However, that could all change after an update regarding Swansea City’s hunt for a new manager.
Ryan Mason to quit Tottenham and take over at Swansea City?
As reported by Darren Witcoop via X (17 February), Mason is under consideration for the vacant managerial position at Swansea City.
The Swans are in no rush to make a decision following Luke Williams’ exit from the Welsh club on Monday, with Des Buckingham and Rob Edwards also being considered, as well as Mason.
However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – hopes that Mason lands the job at the Swansea.com Stadium.
“I’d be very happy for Mason to accept the job at Swansea,” King said.
“I’m not quite sure what he offers to Tottenham at this moment in time. I think there should have been a clearout of the coaching staff when Postecoglou arrived at the club.
“To be honest, there should have been clearouts even before that point. I think there has been a lot of favouritism when it comes to the coaches that have been kept on. What do some of those coaches, including Mason, do? What is their input?
“It seems as though they just sit on the bench with their nice tracksuits, and occasionally come up to Postecoglou to offer instructions which are not accepted. Therefore, if Mason gets the chance to go to Swansea, then good luck to him.”
Ange Postecoglou to outlast Ryan Mason at Tottenham?
Mason has outlasted the last few managers at Tottenham. Therefore, it would at least be some sign of progress if Postecoglou were to outlast Mason.

Many have joked that the 33-year-old would eventually replace Postecoglou for his third stint as Spurs’ interim manager. However, the former Spurs midfielder could now break that streak by taking over at Swansea.
