Richarlison exit exclusive – ‘He isn’t a Tottenham player’

Richarlison’s future with Tottenham is very much up in the air at the moment.

The Brazilian’s time in North London has been nothing short of a failure considering the amount of money that was paid to bring him to the club from Everton.

As a result, Tottenham were open to moving Richarison on in the winter transfer window [Darren Lewis].

Daniel Levy was even urged to go as far as accept a £40million loss on the Spurs striker. However, Richarlison remained at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, although it isn’t clear how much longer this will be the case.

As reported by The Mirror (2 March), Tottenham are set to pass up on their option to sign Timo Werner permanently from RB Leipzig for £8.5million.

In addition, the report goes on to state that Richarlison’s Spurs future will be reassessed at the end of the season. However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the North London club should have already cut ties with the 27-year-old.

“I thought it was time to get rid of Richarlison in January,” King said.

Richarlison hasn’t been successful with Tottenham

“I’m not sure why he was still here after discussions about him moving on in the summer. He isn’t a Tottenham player for me.

“He’s had his little spells when he has looked as though he could be effective. However, he’s never been consistent.”

Tottenham need to cut ties with Richarlison

Spurs paid £60million to sign Richarlison from Everton, and it doesn’t look as though the club are going to recoup much of that money back.

However, the longer they keep hold of the forward, the more money they are spending on his wages. Therefore, Richarlison needs to be moved on this summer, as Spurs cannot afford to waste any more money on what is arguably one of the worst transfers in the club’s history.

However, finding a buyer could be difficult after yet another unsuccessful season in a Spurs shirt for Richarlison. As a result, Tottenham might need to accept unfavourable terms.
