Richarlison could be sold by Tottenham after ‘Ridiculous’ incident v Arsenal on Sunday

Bryan King believes Richarlison is unlikely to be a Tottenham player next season.

The ex-Spurs scout feels the striker was lucky to stay on the pitch after being introduced as a second-half substitute against Arsenal.

Richarlison clashed with countryman Gabriel as Spurs were beaten 3-2 by the Gunners at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (28 April).

And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t see much of a future for the Brazil international in North London.

“I mean Richarlison was lucky not to be sent off after coming on, it was ridiculous,” King said.

“He should have been booked for running into Gabriel and booked for an argument he had with the referee before that incident. The last thing Spurs needed at that stage of the game was to have a man sent off.

“I’ll be very surprised if Richarlison is still a Tottenham player next season.”

Richarlison must prove his worth to Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou

After an impressive run of form during the middle of the season which saw Richarlison hit 10 Premier League goals for the campaign, the 26-year-old has struggled as of late.

Injury setbacks have seen him in and out of the team, and there will once again be question marks over the number nine at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

If Spurs were to receive a tempting offer for the Brazilian, Postecoglou would need to decide whether or not he sees Richarlison as his long-term striking solution.

If he doesn’t, then it might be time for Spurs to cut ties with the forward.
