Richarlison backed to quit Tottenham in big-money deal after Dharmesh Sheth transfer news
Dan Bardell believes that Ange Postecoglou may look into selling Richarlison to Saudi Arabia to help fund a rebuild for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
Dharmesh Sheth suggested on Transfer Talk (7 May), that the Brazilian’s future under the Australian manager could be uncertain.
This was added to by The Athletic (7 May) who said that there is interest coming from Saudi Pro League clubs which could see Spurs recoup the fee paid.
Now Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist, Bardell believes this move could help to fund a summer rebuild at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Bardell said: “I think this summer is going to be really interesting. The Saudi market completely blew up last summer and then January was very quiet.
“I’d expect it not to be at the level of last year but I think there will be money floating about and it’s a market that Premier League clubs will use.
“I think the way that Tottenham have ended the season, there are a lot of players there that if the right offer came in they would entertain it to put money towards a rebuild. Ange Postecoglou needs to shape his squad to deal with his demands and his methods.
“Richarlison is Brazil’s number nine so carries a lot of value. I know they spent a lot on him but maybe he’d be interested in a Saudi move so he’s one I could see leaving. I think it’s going to be a really interesting summer at Tottenham.”
Should Tottenham sell Richarlison this summer?
Spurs signed the forward from Everton in a deal worth a reported £60million in 2022 [Sky Sports News].
He has had an up-and-down spell in North London which has often seen him cut a frustrated figure in front of goal.
In his first campaign with the club, he managed just one Premier League goal despite scoring three in the 2022 World Cup [FotMob].
Richarlison has had a much better season under Postecoglou, despite his injury troubles, which has seen him register 11 goals and four assists across just 18 starts and ten substitute showings [FotMob].

In an attacking sense, he has been positive which has seen him have 7.63 touches in the opposition penalty area, 0.65 non-penalty goals and 3.96 total shots per 90 [Fbref]. These all rank him within the top 10 per cent of attackers in Europe this season.
Defensively he also helps out with 1.89 blocks, 0.95 tackles and 1.36 clearances per game which make him an asset.
It remains unclear whether his future is at Tottenham under Postecoglou but he could prove to be a very useful squad player.
