Revealed: Viktor Gyokeres recommended for Tottenham transfer amid goalscoring run at Sporting CP
Spurs have been advised to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres ahead of London rivals Chelsea, Tottenham News has been told.
Gyokeres has performed well during his debut season in Portugal with Sporting.
The Sweden international has scored 22 goals and provided 10 assists in his first 25 matches for the Lisbon club, netting three times in the UEFA Europa League.

Sporting signed the 25-year-old from Championship outfit Coventry last summer in a deal which was understood to be in the region of £20million, a record fee for both clubs (Coventry Telegraph, 13 July 2023).
Amid rumours linking the forward with a switch to Stamford Bridge, Tottenham News understands that Spurs have been advised to rival the Blues for Gyokeres’ signature.
Since arriving in Portugal the striker’s value has increased immensely, and Chelsea recently saw their offer of £73million turned down for the marksman (Daily Mail, 16 January).
A recruitment source with close links to Spurs has told Tottenham News that he would have liked to see the North London side make a move for Gyokeres when he was still with Coventry, revealing that they feel the forward would be a better fit at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium than Timo Werner, who recently joined Spurs on a six-month loan deal from RB Leipzig.

Gyokeres scored 21 goals and provided 10 assists in 46 Championship matches as the Sky Blues reached the Play-Off Final at Wembley, where they were beaten on penalties by Luton Town (27 May 2023).
He has made 19 appearances for the Sweden national team, where he plays alongside Spurs ace Dejan Kulusevski, and has scored five goals in that time.
