Radu Dragusin to feature ‘more prominently’ for Tottenham after his display v Manchester City
John Wenham believes Radu Dragusin is set for a more prominent first-team role at Tottenham next season after his display against Manchester City.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose was impressed by the centre-back’s performance in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday (14 May).
Dragusin was a surprise inclusion against Pep Guardiola’s side as he made just his third Spurs start alongside Cristian Romero, with Micky van de Ven moving to left-back.
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – hopes that this performance kickstarts the Romania international’s career in North London.
“I was pleased that Dragusin came into the side to play a proper opponent in a big game,” Wenham said.
“That is exactly what Tottenham bought him to do, and I thought he stood out.
“Hopefully he starts against Sheffield United and plays in the post-season friendly against Newcastle in Australia.
“That would allow him to build a presence ahead of hopefully featuring more prominently next season.”
Radu Dragusin demonstrated his quality for Tottenham against Manchester City
Minutes have been hard to come by for Dragusin since he arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Romero and van de Ven have kept the 22-year-old out of the team.

However, he sent a reminder to Postecoglou against City that he does have quality, and the defender will hope to be rewarded next season.
