Postecoglou needs ‘remarkable’ turnaround to remain at Tottenham – Spurs Insider

John Wenham thinks it would take something “remarkable” for Ange Postecoglou to still be in charge of Tottenham next season.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes fan reaction after the 1-0 Premier League defeat against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Thursday [4 December] could mark the beginning of the end for Postecoglou.

Angry supporters confronted the Australian following the defeat on the South Coast as unrest begins to grow among the Tottenham faithful.

As a result, Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks it will take a lot for Postecoglou to remain in charge in North London.

“Looking at the scenes from Bournemouth, I’m not sure I still see Postecoglou being in charge next summer,” Wenham said.

“I’m not sure to be honest. It would need to be a remarkable upturn in form, which is frustrating because we have signed all of these players for his system.

“If we do decide to pull the trigger on another manager, then it means we’re not going to see his rebuild through.”

Ange Postecoglou to be sacked by Daniel Levy at Tottenham?

Postecoglou was the fourth permanent manager to be appointed since the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino, in the space of just five years.

Therefore, if he too is sacked, serious questions might need to be asked of those higher up at the club.

While a decision might not necessarily arrive in the coming weeks, it does look as though Postecoglou is unlikely to last the season at this moment in time.

As a result, he needs a big upturn in form, starting against Chelsea in the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday [8 December], a match which the 59-year-old could make three changes for.

In other Tottenham news, Daniel Levy is to send Postecoglou a £40million message.
