Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to attract plenty of interest at Tottenham as transfer update emerges
John Wenham believes more clubs will be interested in Tottenham ace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after his performances at the 2024 European Championships.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose feels the club could now secure a better deal for the exit-linked midfielder.
As reported by Florian Plettenberg (2 July), Hojbjerg is keen to leave Spurs this summer, with just one year left on his deal in North London.
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has discussed the possibility of more clubs expressing an interest in the Denmark international as a result of his performances at the Euros.
“We’re talking about someone who can’t get a game for Spurs, and he outshone Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham against England,” Wenham said.
“I don’t think we will get more than £15million for him, just because of the length of his contract.
“However, after his performances at the Euros, I think there will be more clubs interested and willing to offer perhaps better payment terms.
“But just because of the contract length, and his age, I don’t think the final fee will be more than £15million.”
Where will Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg play next season?
Hojbjerg looks a near-certainity to leave Tottenham this summer.
With just one year remaining on his Spurs contract the chances of a renewal at this point seem rather slim.
As a result, the club will be desperate to move Hojbjerg on this summer to avoid losing him for free.
Luckily for the club, the 28-year-old put in some fine displays at the Euros before Denmark’s eventual elimination in the Round of 16 after a 2-0 defeat to Germany (29 June).
As a result, more clubs are likely to have taken notice of the Dane, which could help Spurs to secure a better transfer deal.
In other Tottenham news, the club have pulled the plug on signing one player after a transfer update.
