One of Tottenham’s late signings will cost Daniel Levy over £100m after what he’s agreed
Tottenham ended the summer transfer window with eight new additions to their ranks after some last-minute business.
The Lilywhites have made a promising start to the new Premier League season, and appear to have significantly improved on the squad that struggled last time out.
Daniel Levy has splashed the cash at Tottenham over the last few weeks, as their squad value has now risen above that of Manchester United.
Thomas Frank has plenty of exciting new options at his disposal, but it could be far from the end of the financial outlay for Levy.

This article includes exclusive comments from former Tottenham scout Bryan King.
Xavi Simons to cost Tottenham over £100m
Xavi Simons’ arrival is hugely exciting for Tottenham, given the form that he has produced for RB Leipzig over the last two years.
The Netherlands international averaged just over one goal contribution in every other game during his time with the Bundesliga outfit, and has now agreed a huge seven-year contract in N17.
Spurs secured his signature for a fee of £52million, and then followed that up with the deadline day loan move for Randal Kolo Muani.
- Simons notched 42 goal contributions from just 78 games for Leipzig
- He has become Spurs’ fifth most expensive buy of all timely
- His contract will keep him with Spurs until 2032
However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that a figure of over £100m is likely to be closer to the full financial outlay for the Simons deal.
“These two players are certainly going to give them options, as they’ve lost (Dejan) Kulusevski and (James) Maddison for at least half the season,” King said.
“On paper, those two look as though they could be exciting signings. It will be interesting to see how they fit in, will they go straight into the team?
“With the money and the wages for Simons alone, you’re looking at over £100m here.
“The fee is £52m and if he’s signed a seven-year contract, he’s going to be on £7m or £8m a year.”

Daniel Levy has given Thomas Frank the tools to succeed
Levy has faced plenty of criticism at Tottenham for their work in the transfer market over the years, but there can be no doubt over the fact that they have had a hugely positive summer window this time around.
He has provided Frank with ample backing in the market, having spent a significant amount of money on seemingly shrewd additions.
The Lilywhites chief was always going to need to put his money where his mouth was if the team were to achieve the sizeable improvement that he has targeted this season, and he has certainly done that.
It is now over to the manager to get the players performing week in, week out.
