Mikey Moore backed to play a big part for Tottenham v Sheffield United

John Wenham has called for Mikey Moore to get more minutes for Tottenham against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Sunday (19 May).

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose was delighted to see the 16-year-old make his Premier League debut in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City (14 May).

Moore replaced James Maddison in stoppage-time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to become the youngest player to feature for the club in the Premier League.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has called for Ange Postecoglou to hand him a bigger role on Sunday.

“It was massive for him, and he fully deserves it,” Wenham said.

“He’s been training with the first team for a few weeks now and I was pleased that he managed to get on the pitch against City.

“His post-match interview with Tottenham after the game also impressed me.

“He’s a confident boy, he spoke well, and I’d like to see him get far longer on the pitch against Sheffield United.”

Mikey Moore could become a star under Ange Postecoglou at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Moore has been on fire for Spurs’ Under-18s over the past couple of years.

He will take great confidence from being handed his Premier League debut, especially with that debut coming against Manchester City.

If he can continue to impress in first-team training and make an impact during pre-season, he could be set for a bigger role next season.

As for Sunday, if Postecoglou gets the opportunity then he must get Moore on the pitch.

Considering Sheffield United’s defensive record this season, the forward might not get an easier chance to bag his first goal in England’s top flight.

In other Tottenham news, the club are set to replace one player in the squad and make a £10million profit.
