Marinakis to be upset as Premier League fines could increase amid Tottenham fallout
Evangelos Marinakis will no doubt be feeling hard done by as his fallout with Tottenham continues.
Marinakis purchased Nottingham Forest in 2017 and has since been determined to take the club to new heights.
After finishing seventh in the 2024/25 Premier League, it finally seemed as though he was seeing the fruits of his labour when Forest qualified for the UEFA Conference League. This would be their first competitive tournament in Europe in 30 years.
But it seems the Greek shipping magnate has taken one step forward only to take three steps back following his latest fallout with Tottenham.

Marinakis ‘disappointed’ at Morgan Gibbs-White Tottenham transfer
It has been widely reported that Nottingham Forest are considering legal action over Tottenham’s pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White.
Furthermore, it is understood that Forest will be looking at a potential breach in confidentiality around the £60million release clause in the midfielder’s contract.
Additionally, the Midlands club insist they have not permitted Spurs to talk to their player and are furious about how the North London club have conducted the situation.

While Tottenham are not expected to face a transfer ban, ex-FIFA official Keith Hackett – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes a potential fine could be on the cards, but only if Forest can prove Spurs acted illegally.
“The owner of Nottingham Forest is a very wealthy man who will be very disappointed that he has lost one of his star players,” Hackett said.
“If there is evidence of an illegal approach I am sure that he will not hesitate to take action.
“Proving that an illegal approach has been made will not be easy. You will appreciate that the Premier League shareholders are the 20 clubs.
“It will be interesting to see if, at their Summer Conference, any fines will be increased for clubs that breach the rules in place.“

Tottenham should continue with their summer plans
There is little doubt that Spurs should continue their venture in the summer market while waiting for the Gibbs-White situation to be resolved.
The last thing the club needs is to miss out on key transfers, especially with UEFA Champions League football to play for.
Thus, Daniel Levy has already demonstrated that he is willing to go the extra mile this summer. And with Thomas Frank ready to make history with Tottenham, he should continue this proactive approach.
