Luka Vušković hailed after ‘crazy’ thing pre-agreed Tottenham signing did
Ange Postecoglou will no doubt wish Luka Vušković was already a Tottenham player.
Vušković will join Tottenham this summer after he has turned 18, with Spurs having paid £12million to sign him from Hajduk Split, while Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain were also rumoured to have shown interest [via Evening Standard, 25 September 2023].
The centre-back is currently playing his football on loan in Belgium with Westerlo where he is making quite the impression, having scored six goals in 20 Belgian Pro League matches, recently netting a bicycle kick in a 4-3 league defeat to Club Brugge at Jan Breydel Stadium on Boxing Day (26 December).
Postecoglou is dealing with an injury crisis in defence, with Destiny Udogie the latest player to suffer a setback and Spurs insider Paul O Keefe sharing a timeline for the left-back’s return via his personal X account (1 January). Therefore, the Spurs boss would no doubt benefit from having Vušković already.
However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has implied that the 17-year-old will be worth the wait.
“It is like he was made in a science lab,” Wenham said.
“This time he popped up with an acrobatic bicycle kick to score his sixth league goal of the season as a 17-year-old centre-back. It is crazy what he is doing.
“Therefore, long may it continue. He just seems to be a crazy good prospect.”

Postecoglou will hope that he at least gets the chance to work with Vušković.
The Australian is under serious pressure in North London. As a result, there is a good chance he might not be at the club come the summer.
However, whoever is in the hot seat in North London at the beginning of the next season will have the pleasure of working with an incredibly talented young defender.
