Lucas Bergvall set for instant first-team role at Tottenham as ‘Impressive’ claim emerges

John Wenham believes that Lucas Bergvall could slot straight into the Tottenham first team next season.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has been impressed by the 18-year-old’s displays with Djurgårdens IF as of late.

Tottenham signed the Swedish wonderkid earlier this season (Tottenham Hotspur Official Website, 2 February), and he is set to arrive at Hotspur Way on 1 July.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels that Bergvall could be ready to make an instant impact in North London.

“On Bergvall, previously I was thinking that when he arrived at the club he wouldn’t get too much game time,” Wenham said.

“However, every week he seems to score or assist, and it has caught my eye how heavily involved he is with Djurgårdens IF, and how impressive he has been.

“I think Ange Postecoglou will take a look at him in pre-season and a decision will be made, and it looks as if he might already be good enough to come straight into the first team setup next season.”

Could Lucas Bergvall be handed a first-team role by Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham?

Bergvall will still only be 18 when he arrives in the Premier League.

While many supporters might have assumed the midfielder would first be sent out on loan, his recent displays demonstrate a player playing beyond his years.

Bergvall is no stranger to a challenge, having already made his debut for the Sweden national team, and an early introduction to the first team at Tottenham is therefore unlikely to phase him.

In other Tottenham news, the club have been backed to complete a “phenomenal” deal after a recent transfer reveal.
