Levy to face music v Leicester as angry Tottenham fans react to transfer news

Daniel Levy is expected to face the fury of the Tottenham faithful during the clash with Leicester City on Sunday.

Provided the match goes ahead after a recent Met Office update, Ange Postecoglou’s side will host the Foxes in the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 26 January.

Spurs’ squad has been almost cut in half after injuries in recent weeks. However, the club don’t appear to be any closer to bringing in new signings, with Postecoglou’s recent admission implying that no new players will join the club before 3 February.

Therefore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – expects fans to express their frustration toward Levy and the club’s ownership on Sunday.

“Our lack of transfer activity is concerning,” Wenham said.

“I just can’t understand or get my head around it. I expect the atmosphere at the Leicester game to be very volatile toward Levy because people have just had enough.

“When you see all the injuries we have, people have had enough, and that is completely fair. I can’t defend this board or ownership in any way, what they’re doing is negligent, and they’re weakening Postecoglou’s position.”

Daniel Levy to face fan backlash in Tottenham v Leicester?

Levy made a bright start to the winter transfer window, helping the club get a deal for Antonín Kinský across the line after getting involved personally.

However, since the arrival of the goalkeeper, transfer activity has gone eerily quiet in North London.

This won’t come as much of a surprise to Spurs supporters as Levy is known for his poor transfer dealings, with Spurs previously becoming the first side in Premier League history not to make any signings in a summer transfer window.

However, considering the lack of players available to Postecoglou, new signings were needed now more than ever. Therefore, the club’s lack of transfer activity is simply inexcusable.
